Winning roll for Owen

Romsey Tennis junior Owen Martel, 14, has continued his great run of winter form by winning a recent Grade 4 men’s singles event at Sutton, the Salisbury Open under-18's Grade 4 singles, the under-18 Grade 4 doubles event at Taunton with partner Sam Lyle as well as another under-16's singles regional win at the recent event held at Weymouth Tennis Centre. And to add to the fantastic list of acolades, he has just won his first men's Grade 4 doubles win at Sherborne with partner Will Burridge from Wiltshire.

Owen has been invited to be a member of the under-18's county team this summer and will be playing mixed and men’s doubles for Romsey Tennis this coming summer. Owen has been an instrumental part of the Romsey B team’s success this winter who anticipate promotion and are currently at the top of the division. Owen hopes to complete his tennis leaders course soon to be available to help juniors in the club with his experience from later in the year.

Owen has been coached by our head coach Mihály from a young age and they continue to train together regularly every week. If you are interested in joining the junior programme at Romsey Tennis, please either email Mihály at bukurmihaly@sapo.pt or call him on 07800 949772.
