CENTRE MEMBERS TAKE ON THREE PEAKS CHALLENGE

Seven members of the Centre will be taking on the Three Peaks Challenge this year in order to raise funds for our Centre.  The Centre is run by volunteers and is reliant on memberships and fund raising to continue the great work of making tennis and pickleball available to all.  They began training at the beginning of the year and will be putting on an Easter Event for everyone to enjoy.

They tackled Pen Y Fan as part of their training and despite the rain, the wind, and even a dusting of snow at the summit, four determined members of the Ross Tennis Centre Three Peaks team laced up their boots on Sunday and took on Pen y Fan as part of their training for July’s Three Peaks Challenge. It wasn’t glamorous — far from it — but it was exactly the kind of day that reminds you why these challenges matter. Every step up that mountain was fuelled by the same spirit that keeps our community courts alive: resilience, teamwork, and a belief that something worth having is worth working for.

Not everyone could make the training hike, but they did gather for a team photo outside the Centre beforehand. Look out for this on social media!

The support of our members and the wider community means everything. If you’re able to donate, cheer us on, or simply share our story, you’ll be helping protect a place that brings people together, rain or shine.”

Introduction

Ross Tennis Centre (RTC), which is a Community Interest Company, (not for profit), was established in 1987 to offer great tennis facilities for the residents and visitors of Ross-on-Wye and the surrounding area.  It is a thriving place, with many members and non-members of all ages playing regularly.  RTC is a fully registered member of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) which recognises good standards and best practice at tennis venues in Britain.  RTC is a member of the Herefordshire & Worcestershire LTA (H&WLTA) and has five teams competing in the H&WLTA leagues.

The facilities include four floodlit tarmacadam tennis courts, which are available all year round from 8.00am to 10.00pm.  The Pavilion has a wheelchair access toilet, shower/changing and tea/coffee making facilities which can be accessed by members.

Membership of RTC enables individuals to join the LTA Advantage programme which provides access to the LTA Advantage Wimbledon ballot and a licence and rating to compete.

Non-members are welcome to play here:   please visit the NON-MEMBERS tab for details and the BOOKINGS tab to make an online court booking.

SAFEGUARDING

RTC is a place where anyone and everyone is welcome to enjoy their tennis in a safe environment; we expect players and spectators to show respect and tolerance to others at all times.

Our Safeguarding Officer is Sarah Drake 07424089746 email welfare@rosstenniscentre.org

Please refer to the Policies tab for full details of our Code of Conduct and other important policies.
