EVENTS
We are hosting an Open Day this year on Sunday 8th June. Please come along whether you are a current member, a potential member or just curious! There will be lots going on and some prizes to win. All welcome, whether young or old, experienced or inexperienced at tennis. Feel free to download and share this OPEN DAY FLIER with your friends, family and local community (eg relevant WhatsApp or Facebook groups).
CLUB COMPETITIONS
The annual club scratch knock out competition will take place again, starting in May and culminating with the finals on Sunday 28th September 2025. All members will be offered the chance to enter in April. The experiment of having partners in the mixed doubles drawn by lot proved popular, with increased participation, and will be repeated. Congratulations to the 2024 winners:
• Men’s singles Henry Kear
• Ladies’ Singles Olwen Thomas
• Men’s Doubles Ed and Henry Kear
• Ladies doubles Amelia Calvert and Olwen Thomas
• Mixed Doubles Amelia Calvert and Paul Wrightman
In addition our coaches are planning to organise a number of junior competitions with details announced throughout the year. They also plan to hold an adult/child doubles tournament – details will be shared in due course.
“I returned to tennis after several years and found everyone so incredibly welcoming and helpful. The standard is very good, but the great players are still happy to play ‘beneath themselves’, always offering encouragement. A great place to play tennis and enjoy good company as well!”
Richard, Adult member
“I joined the club about three years ago and find it a great mix of fun and competitive tennis. As all the members are so friendly, I decided to continue to be a member and play tennis at Rudgwick , even though I now live an hour away.”
Paul, Adult member
“Rudgwick Tennis Club has been absolutely fantastic for my family and I. It has given us the opportunity to learn and improve our tennis skills in a fun and supportive environment. The coaching is excellent for all age groups, and we have made lifelong friends. Whether playing socially or competitively, we have always felt encouraged and included. We are so grateful to be part of such a fantastic club!”
James, Adult member
