Each month we will feature one of our volunteers or groups who make SLTC such a sucessful club.  This month our focus is on:

The Grass Cutting Crew

In 2024, our groundsman was absent for most of the year.  In order to maintain the grass courts during the season, a team of volunteers was formed to manage the grass courts – cutting, rolling and marking. 

This team was made up of:

Mike Braithwaite

Steve Pearce

They all gave up huge amounts of their time and could often be seen working at the club.  The work can be physically hard and requires a high degree of skill – we all want straight lines and clear line markings when we play.

The club sets very high standards and provides first class courts and the team kept this going all summer. They all did a fantastic job and ensured that we had great courts to play on.
