Each month we will feature one of our volunteers or groups who make SLTC such a sucessful club.  This month our focus is on:

The Grass Cutting (and many other jobs) Crew

After the sad loss of our talented groundsman, Keith Wotton, early in 2025, a dedicated team of club volunteers has come together to work hard and maintain the grass courts throughout the season.  

Led by Chris Marsh (Committee member) and Joel Henry (who has kindly and temporarily stepped forward while we search for a permanent groundsman), this volunteer team includes the following members:

They all gave up (and continue to give up) huge amounts of their time and can often be seen working at the club.  The work can be physically hard and requires a high degree of skill – we all want straight lines and clear line markings when we play.

The club sets very high standards and provides first class courts and the team has kept this going throughout 2025. They all did a fantastic job and ensured that we have great courts to play on.
