GBTW Open Day

A very big thank you to everyone who came along to support the Great British Tennis Weekend Open Day on Saturday 12th May. We hope everyone had a great time and the committee would like to thank everyone who helped to prepare and get the club ready for the event and all who supported on the day. It is very much appreciated.

Liam Fox 3 Peak Challenge

Many members will know Liam who was a member at the club for many years before joining the RAF. Liam along with 11 other RAF recruits will be taking on the 3 Peak Challenge on 16th June which involves climbing Mount Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike all within 24 hours. To mark 100 years of the RAF the team also have the huge privilege of carrying the Centenary Baton along their journey as ambassadors for the RAF and as part of its relay across the country. The challenge is all to raise money for the 'RAF 100' which supports four forces based charities. Anyone who would like to sponsor the team and support this very worthwhile cause can do so at:

Good luck Liam!

Holiday Reading!

A couple of weeks ago we were contacted by Gregory Howe who is an ex touring pro from Derbyshire who has written a book about a year on the tennis circuit from the Futures circuit up to the ATP tour. His book "Chasing Points: A Season on the Pro Tennis Circuit" is now out and available from all major bookstores and on kindle. It sounds like perfect holiday reading material for anyone who has an interest in getting a behind the scenes view of the pro tour.

Finally don't forget to keep up with all the latest club news by following our Facebook page and via our website.

Warmest Wishes,

The St James Tennis Club Committee
