Saturday 9th May saw a fantastic day of squash at Stirling Lawn Tennis & Squash Club, with a packed balcony, excellent support throughout the afternoon and a brilliant atmosphere from start to finish.
The action began with the Plate Final between Andrew Elliott and Andy Davidson. Andrew edged a very tight opening game 15-13, but Andy responded strongly to take the next three games 15-10, 15-10, 15-10 and lift the Plate title after a series of long, hard-fought rallies.
The Plate Bronze Match, played the previous evening, saw Rodney Allan overcome two-time Plate finalist Danny Maxwell to secure third place.
Next up was the Championship Bronze Match, which turned into one of the matches of the day. Sam Parlane defeated Donald Rodger in a superb five-game battle:
15-9, 10-15, 15-13, 14-16, 15-3
The final match of the day saw Neale Mooney take on two-time champion Lee Masson in the Club Championship Final.
Both players produced some outstanding squash, but Neale proved too strong on the day, winning in three games:
15-6, 15-10, 15-10
With that victory, Neale Mooney became the 2026 Club Champion for the first time.
A huge thank you goes to all referees, markers, volunteers and everyone who came along to support the players and help create such a strong atmosphere throughout the day. Events like this are a brilliant reminder of what makes club sport special.
Finals Day was a great showcase for squash at the club and a fitting end to another excellent season.
