informal advice for beginners on any aspect of the game, such as equipment.   For example, how to choose a racquet.

 

Court:

 well-drained, "all-weather", hard court with a "medium-speed" surface;

 lots of opportunity to get out and play most conditions;

 keys are available for members for a small charge.

 

Racquets and balls:

spares available free-of-charge for beginners and returners.

 

Ball Machine:

puts the ball where you want it every time;

occasional practice sessions to start playing and improve by simple repetitions.

 

Ball Inflator:

keeps balls at the right pressure for (usually) predictable bounce;

makes balls last much longer giving cost and environmental benefits.

 

Pavilion:

Council-owned facility adjacent to the court, available for occasional hire for use by the club.

 

Wimbledon tickets draw:

chance to enter LTA draw through club membership and watch the best live tennis.
