Rhys Dunford LTA Level 3 - plus Operations Director and Head of Tennis at Top Bounce

Here is what Rhys has to say about himself: 

"I started assisting with the coaching programme at Ivybridge when I was 14 and instantly loved being given the opportunity to help pass on my knowledge & passion for tennis to other people. I continued coaching throughout my teens alongside my busy training and tournament schedule which allowed me to share my experiences gained from playing tournaments with all the up and coming junior players I was involved with. 

Due to my playing background I am most at home supporting junior and adult players to get in to playing competitive matches and supporting players who already play in league teams or tournament tennis. 

My specialism is helping all competitive players improve their serve, doubles tactics and general confidence within game situations. This is done through both group and 1-1 coaching, so if you want to get more competitive with your tennis I am definitely a good choice of coach for you."

Beth Groves LTA Level 2 Instructor

Beth says:

" My names Beth, I’m a qualified Level 2 coach and will soon be working towards my Level 3 qualification. I won LTA young volunteer of the year in 2016 and 2017, I won Devon Sports Awards young volunteer of the year in 2018, I was nominated by the LTA and awarded a British Citizen Youth Award (BCyA) in 2018 for my contributions to tennis and I came top three nationally in the LTA Young Person of the Year Award in 2020.

I started coaching tennis when I was 12 and haven’t stopped since !! I have a particular passion for girls tennis and cardio tennis and since I started coaching I have worked hard to try and make the sport accessible to more people from all different types of backgrounds. I also volunteered in coaching multi sports to adults with different disabilities for 7 years which is another passion of mine :)

Tavistock Tennis Club also has other coaches that work on site at TTC with our permission. All of which abide by the clubs policies and LTA code of conduct.   Our coaches are LTA qualified and  certified in first aid and safeguarding.

Linden Hardisty

Linden Hardisty is an LTA Registered Pro Part III, PTRUK Professional.  Linden is available for private tuition for adults and performance coaching for juniors.  He has coached all standards from university teams to schools, including professional and county players. and has set up a wide range of courses from ‘Tennis for the Terrified‘ to individualised programmes for aspiring professionals.  Linden was ranked 18th in the world over-35s.  He has played extensively to a high level, including Wimbledon pre qualifying, and represented GB in the over-35s category, once as captain.  In 2002 he was part of the GB team that won the Italia Cup world team championships in Miami Florida.  If you would like to speak directly to Linden contact him on Tel: 07956 548249

Richard Hendin LTA Level 2 Instructor

Richard is an LTA Level 2 Instructor who believes everyone can enjoy and benefit from taking up tennis, at whatever stage of life.  He coaches Walking Tennis (two bounces, no running!) and Starting Tennis Later in Life (STLiL) which have brought many members to the Club.  So if you would like to give tennis a try yourself, or know of someone you think might like to have a go, please contact him on 07812 891601, or e-mail om1770@yahoo.com ... 

Hitting Partner for adults only- we also have a hitting partner, Gordon Hilborn, available for individual adult sessions.  Gordon is an LTA Level 1 Instructor and can be contacted on 07765 282334.  Gordon also offers a racquet restringing service to members and is very good and keenly priced, with fast turn around times.
