David established Tenniswise in 2003 just after he passed his level 3 qualification. He had been working on a voluntary basis since 2001 in Silloth Tennis Club helping mentor David Pigeon re-establish the club, create links with local Schools and grow the club into a very successful one with a huge membership. 2004 saw David become a full-time Coach and by 2005 was working full time in Netherhall School in Maryport where he also ran the junior coaching programme in the club there as well as the coaching programme at Ashfield Tennis Club in Workington. David received many accolades for his coaching including the October 2009 National Coach of the month award as well as Cumbria coach of the year and other nominations. 

David has also been responsible for establishing many competitions including the week long award winning Maryport Open, Silloth Open, Eden Lawn Open and Dalston Open. He has also been in charge of hhundreds of local competitions and still runs the very successful MINI RED TOUR in West Cumbria for local under 8 players.
