About the Club

We are in the Craiglockhart / Colinton area of Edinburgh, with 6 artificial clay courts (4 with floodlights) available  for play all year round.  The surface is great for all levels of players.  Once you've joined, there are no further fees to pay, for courts or  floodlight usage.   We also offer 2 pay to play courts if you want to try the courts before joining.  

Thistle Tennis Club is an LTA affiliated and Tennismark accredited tennis club. This means we meet the LTA club standards, so you know this will be a good and safe place to play. 

We welcome new members, adults, juniors and their families -  all standards from complete beginner to expert.  Our coach offers a strong junior coaching programme for all ages and abilities along with various coaching sessions for adults, so there's plenty on offer to help   players young and older to improve.  We have a comfortable and well equipped clubhouse with changing and shower facilities ,

 Thistle Tennis offers club ladders social tennis and competitions for all members, which are run throughout the year - so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.   There are Mens', Ladies’ and Mixed teams in the East of Scotland Leagues. Our juniors take part in Team Tennis Leagues from aged 8 and under to 16 and under.

We host a variety of social events for members of all ages throughout the year. 

The club also aims to support the local community to have access to tennis facilities to promote health and fitness. We support Firrhill HS, one of the Tennis Foundation’s School of Tennis Programme, by providing the school free access to the courts for the charity's tennis programme.
