Adult Singles Box Leagues
How The Box Leagues Work
Our leagues give our members some exciting, friendly competition. Players are placed in a box of players of a similar ability. Each league will have a total of either 5 or 6 players who will be required to play against all other competitors in their division, within a 12 week period.
At the end of the run the top 2 players will be promoted, bottom 2 will be demoted, and the other 2 players will remain in the same box. Final player positions in the box are determined by:
- Number of wins
- Number of sets won
- Number of games won
- Head-to-head
Scoring:
Competitors should play one super-set to 9 games and must win by 2 clear games. If it gets to 9-9, a tiebreak to 7 points should be played. All results should be recorded on the board in the clubhouse.
Other Information
- WhatsApp groups will be set up with all players in each group.
- Once a match has been completed, players must write up the result on the noticeboard.
- Players are required to book their own courts, supply their own match balls and pay for lights if necessary.
- Any players that do not complete a minimum of 3 matches in the allocated time will be removed from the leagues.
If you would like to join the leagues, please sign-up on the adult tennis board in the clubhouse under where the leagues are displayed. Where possible, new joiners will be placed in an appropriate box according to their level.
