TWTC Ladders
TWTC have created online Men’s and Women’s singles ladders for those that are keen to play more competitive singles tennis. Following a brief successful trial period we are inviting anyone who is interested to join the ladders. Players of all levels of ability and experience are welcome to join.
Some general details and instructions:
1. Registration is via the Global Tennis Network (GTN) website here. Members can join the ladder at any time and the site is very intuitive to use.
2. Our ladders are only visible to registered players so any details you enter including your mobile number will only be visible to the fellow members of the TWTC ladder that you join.
3. When you register for the ladder the playing level that you assign to yourself has no relevance to how the ladder operates. The ladders are open to all playing levels.
4. The GTN site is designed to encourage players to challenge each other to matches and the site will automatically rank players based on their results. At the moment there is a setting to only allow anyone to challenge a player below or up to 3 ranking places above them in the ladder. Losing players will gain bonus points for each game that they win so there is always something to play for in your match. Full information on how the challenge and ranking systems operate are available in the details section of the ladder page which is visible once you join the ladder.
5. In order to prevent any single player receiving too many challenges there is a restriction on how many open inbound or outbound challenges a player can have or make at any one time. Also settings are in place to ensure that players do not continually play the same one or two people so anyone joining should receive a steady (but hopefully not overwhelming) variety of challenges.
6. As well as the facility to challenge there is also a proposals function where you can notifiy your availability to play at a certain date and time so that anyone in the ladder who is also looking for a match can be made aware of your availability and then issue you a challenge.
7. You will be notified by an automated email once you receive a challenge. This email will contain a link to follow to accept the challenge, the challenger should then arrange the match either via email or private chat on WhatsApp. You should book your matches in the normal way via the Clubspark court booking function.
8. The rules and time settings that have been specified for example for rankings, challenges or the playing of matches are quite customisable so if you have any comments or suggestions on changes or improvements to these settings (not for the GTN site itself) please contact Matt Hartridge.
