Recycling

The club continues to review environmental issues and has recently introduced a double waste bin arrangement in the clubhouse to separate rubbish that can be recycled from general waste.  The committee would be grateful if members could be mindful of waste disposal at the club.

As you are hopefully aware we are also keen to recycle used tennis balls rather than these being disposed of as general waste.  We encourage members to use the ball recycling bin in the clubhouse for club balls and any personal tennis balls that are past their prime.

Quarterly update for April to June 2022.

As you know, each month we randomly select from our database one club/coach who recycled with us that month and offers to donate £50.00 to a charity of their choice. This quarter the donations were as follows :

David A (TFF)  £500.00  to  Tennis For Free

Andrew J (STA) £50.00  to The Dan Maskell Trust

Marilyn B (CLTC) £50.00  to EECA

Stephen H (GHSC) £50.00 to The Childrens Hospital Trust

We have also donated large numbers of balls to the following charities: Under Privileged Nurseries, Schools, Children's Homes, Rescue Centres, Dogs Trust, RSPCA, Police Dogs, Guide Dogs, Armed Forces Dogs.

We have also made cash donations to the following charities : ANCHOR, APLA, Blue Elephant, Bright Ideas For Tennis, CALM, Cancer Research, Children’s Hospices, EOL Hospices, Fare Share, Make A Wish, Macmillan Cancer Support, Make A Wish, NSPCC. ROMPA, RSPCA, Several Foodbanks, Tennis First, Tennis For Free, Tennis Fundraising, The Alzheimer's Society, The Brain Tumour Charity, The British Heart Foundation, The National Autistic Society, The Parkinson’s Disease Charity, The Stroke Association, The Tennis Foundation, Various Food Banks, Veterans Lifeline.
