The Club is keen to provide opportunities to develop and enhance members’ fitness, tennis techniques, tactics, and match-play skills, whether you are a beginner, an intermediate player, or a seasoned competitor.  Frankie's Tennis Academy provides coaching services for adults and juniors at the club. Members can join regular Group Coaching sessions and attend periodic courses and coaching events that are available for various playing standards and abilities.  Private lessons are also available and should be arranged directly with the Coach. ADULT COACHING

Regular weekly group coaching sessions run throughout the year, and are organised by player ability, including improver, intermediate, and advanced playing standards.  Beginners are encouraged to take a few private lessons before joining a group session. In addition to regular group coaching sessions, various short-term courses and events are held throughout the year. These include rusty racket courses, walking tennis, fun tournaments, and a regular Cardio Tennis session on Saturday mornings.

The following sessions and classes can be booked via the ‘Frankies Tennis’ mobile app.

Improver Group Coaching, Mondays 11:00-12:00 and Saturdays 11:30-12:30
The session is aimed at improvers. Improvers can hit the ball over the net and into the court for a short rally, but still make mistakes and may struggle sometimes when serving. This group session is ideal for players looking to develop their techniques and skills, build confidence in their basic tennis strokes, and improve their serve reliability and maintain rallies.

Walking Tennis, Mondays 12:00-13:00
Walking tennis is a modified version of tennis designed to be accessible to everyone. It’s still tennis – but with a few simple modifications: you can’t run or jump; you use slightly different balls, and you can let the ball bounce twice for extra time.  This session is open to all, and since age isn't a barrier for walking tennis players, older people can keep their minds and bodies active on the court while also enjoying the social aspect of being part of a community.

Imp/Intermediate Group Coaching, Tuesdays 19:00-20:00 and Saturdays 09:30-10:30
The session is aimed at improvers and intermediate players. Improvers can hit the ball over the net and into the court for a short rally, but still make mistakes and may struggle sometimes when serving. Intermediate players can comfortably maintain a basic rally with forehands and backhands, whilst controlling the direction and depth of the ball. This group session is ideal for players looking to develop their techniques and skills in executing the basic tennis strokes, including the serve, forehand, backhand, volley, and smash!

Intermediate/Advanced Drills, Wednesdays 12:00-13:00 and 18:30-20:00
This session is designed for intermediate and more advanced players. Coaching focuses on improving skills and techniques. These sessions are ideal for league match players and those who thrive on competitive tennis. Most sessions will be doubles-based, focusing on the technical and tactical aspects of the game, as well as court positioning and shot selection. Some sessions may include singles play and overall shot technique.

Cardio Tennis, Saturdays 10:30-11:30
Cardio Tennis is a high-energy fitness activity that combines the best features of tennis-based activities with cardiovascular exercise, delivering the ultimate, full-body, calorie-burning aerobic workout. You can burn up to 500 calories, and people of all ages and abilities are welcome, so no prior experience is needed.  You choose the level of intensity - motivation from the professional coach is in abundance!

JUNIOR COACHING

The club is eager to introduce children to tennis, develop their skills, and support their personal development in a safe, friendly, and supportive environment. The junior courses and events develop children’s tennis abilities and other essential aspects of their physical and mental well-being. The group sessions also develop children’s social skills and sportsmanship concepts and help them make new friends. TTC welcomes new juniors to join the Club as part of a Family Membership or as individual Junior Members with a nominated Guardian.  Junior courses follow the LTA Youth Framework, which has three levels of Mini Tennis: Red, Orange, and Green, each with its own specific court size and ball type. Juniors aged 11 and older form the final Yellow group, which uses regular tennis balls on a full-size court. This tailored approach, based on age and physical maturity, enables juniors to develop vital skills and techniques as they progress through the program's various levels. The following sessions can be booked via the ‘Frankies Tennis’ mobile app.

Junior Red Groups, Mondays 16:00-16:45 and Saturdays 08:45-09:30
The Red Ball group is an excellent way for children to start playing tennis and is suitable for children aged eight and under. It is played on smaller courts with shorter rackets and softer balls. In addition to developing basic racket skills and ball control, children learn the movement and coordination skills necessary for playing tennis.

Junior Yellow+ Group, Mondays 18:30-19:30
The Yellow+ group is designed for children who already play once a week and want to improve their technique in more detail, as well as develop tactical awareness. These juniors will continue to develop their shots, explore different game strategies and tactics, create their own individual style, and build well-rounded motor skills while improving their physical capabilities.

Junior Red+ Group, Tuesdays 17:00-18:00
The Red+ group is designed for children who already play once a week and want to take their skills to the next level by playing more. These sessions focus on developing more advanced skills and tactics. Players will work on refining their technique, including their forehand, backhand, volley, and serve.

Junior Yellow Groups, Tuesdays 18:00-19:00 and Saturdays 11:00-12:00
In the Yellow Ball group, juniors play on a full-size court with the same balls used by adult professionals.  Players will continue to explore different game strategies and start to develop their individual style. They will evolve through well-rounded motor skills development whilst improving their physical capacities.

Junior Orange Group, Saturdays 09:00-10:00
The Orange Ball group is a great way for players to build on their progress from the Red Ball group and is suitable for players aged 8 to 9 years old. It is played on slightly larger courts than Red Ball, with larger rackets and balls that are not as soft as those used for Red Ball. It’s the next stage to go through before playing on a full-sized court. Still focusing on fun and engaging coaching, the aim is to help each child grow as a player, develop a more well-rounded game and learn a broader range of techniques and tactics.

Junior Green Group, Saturdays 10:00-11:00
The green group accommodates juniors aged 10 and is an excellent way for players to continue their progress from Orange Ball mini-tennis. It is played on a full tennis court, using larger rackets and balls that are slightly softer than the yellow balls. Coaching focuses on more in-depth tennis techniques and tactics, and encourages increasing physical activity. This is achieved with lots of drills as well as rallying with each other.  Fair play and good behaviour are encouraged both on and off the court.
