INTRODUCTION

The Club is keen to provide opportunities to develop and enhance members’ fitness, tennis techniques, tactics, and match play skills whether you are a beginner, an intermediate player, or a seasoned competitor.  Coaching services are provided in partnership with Frankies Tennis who provide adult and junior tennis coaching at the Club. Members can join Group Coaching sessions and attend periodic courses that are available for various playing standards and abilities.  Private lessons are also available and should be arranged directly with the Coach.

ADULT GROUP COACHING SESSIONS & COURSES

Adult group coaching sessions are organised by player experience and ability level with tailored content to ensure individual progress.  Members, including Trial Members, are welcome to join the following regular group coaching sessions. If you are unsure as to which group playing standard best suits your current ability please discuss with the coach before booking.

Improver/Intermediate: Mondays Mornings
Join our one-hour session tailored for improver - intermediate players seeking to enhance their tennis skills. Geared towards individuals capable of sustaining a rally and possessing an understanding of singles or doubles play, this session helps individuals to refine all tennis strokes. Participants will delve into topics such as mastering topspin, achieving optimal ball depth with precision, and executing correct height and depth. Moreover, our focus extends to honing doubles strategy and movement patterns.

Improver: Tuesday Evenings
This targeted hour long session caters for improver- intermediate individuals at rallying the ball over the net and into the court, yet who may encounter challenges, particularly with serving. This group session, structured around engaging drills, serves as an optimal platform for players keen on refining their technique and mastering essential tennis strokes encompassing the serve, forehand, backhand, volley, and smash.

Intermediate/Advanced: Wednesday Midday
This session is open to players of an intermediate standard and above. The sessions are 1.5 hours long and combine individual coaching and matchplay tactics. The first hour focuses on developing skills and techniques; the last half hour is points-based doubles with the coach advising on court positioning, shot selection, and doubles tactics. These sessions are ideal for match players and team players as most sessions will be doubles-based, working on the technical and tactical side of the game. Some sessions may include singles play and overall shot technique. Your game will certainly benefit your competitive performance.

Rusty Rackets: Saturday Mornings
Feeling a bit rusty on the court?  Whether you’re a beginner, an improver, or an intermediate standard player who hasn’t played for a while, Rusty Rackets is for you.  The course is ideal for those players looking to brush up on old skills or those who haven't played for a while and are looking to get back into tennis.  Designed to improve your technical skills and tactical understanding, you will be surprised by how much you can improve your game.  The course caters for individuals of varying abilities and experiences.

Cardio Tennis: Saturday Mornings
Are you hoping to improve your fitness level, or looking to try a new sport, or want to have some fun?  Then look no further - Cardio Tennis is the answer!  The Cardio Tennis course is a high-energy fitness activity that combines the best features of tennis-based activities with cardiovascular exercise, delivering the ultimate, full-body, calorie-burning aerobic workout. You can burn up to 500 calories and all ages and abilities are welcome, so no experience is needed.  You choose the level of intensity - motivation is provided in abundance! Cardio Tennis is a fun group activity for all ages and abilities.

Improver: Saturdays Mornings

This specialised one-hour session is designed for individuals looking to enhance their skills in rallying the ball over the net and into the court, with a focus on overcoming challenges, especially in serving. JUNIOR COACHING

The Club is keen to introduce and develop children in terms of tennis as a sport and welcomes new juniors to join the Club as part of a Family Membership or as individual Junior Members with a nominated Guardian. The Club seeks to promote tennis for children from the age of four upwards and provides a safe environment in which to promote social development, improve fitness, and develop their tennis ability.  Junior coaching at TTC follows the LTA Youth framework so youngsters can practice and play using the appropriate court size and ball type in a safe and secure environment.
