W ADEBRIDGE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS 2023

RULES:

  • Entrants must be fully paid up members 1 month prior to the start date of the competition.

  • Once the draws have been made, there will be no alterations unless due to extreme circumstances, which will be decided by the tournament committee.

  • Players are expected to contact their opponents to arrange their matches. We will put participants contact numbers on a Members only page linked to Championships on our website. (If Junior or Mini phone number is listed we will take it a parent/guardian has authorised, if not must use parent number)

  • Players are responsible for supplying their own balls and arranging their matches outside of club sessions.

  • All Men’s Singles and Men’s Doubles matches will be the best of 3 full sets (first to two sets). If the deciding set goes to 6-6 then a 7 point tie-break will be played.

  • Vets Men's Singles is now fast four. - 1. First to four games wins 2. 7 point Tiebreaker at 3 games all. 3. 10 point Match tie-break at 1 set all. 4. No ad scoring If the score reaches deuce, it’s a sudden death point. The receiver chooses which side to take the serve on. The receiving pair deciding who receives the serve. However the pair cannot change positions.

  • Mixed Doubles and Vet Mixed Doubles will now be run as normal  along with the other draws. Scoring as *All Other Matches below.

  • MINI competition will be organised by Thomas Leach.

  • *All Other matches will be the best of 3 sets with a 10 point championship tie-break (2 clear points) taking the place of the third set (i.e. 6-3, 4-6, 10-5).

  • All matches have to be completed by the deadline date at the top of each round on the draw.

  • Failure to complete your match by the deadline date could result in both players/teams being scratched. If you are having difficulty organising your match then let it be known to myself or another member of the committee in plenty of time. Extensions can be given, including for a final, in extreme circumstances. This will be decided by the tournament committee.

  • A lack of effort in organising your match could result in you or your team being scratched.

  • 1 tube of balls is deemed sufficient to complete a match however a new tube can be used if agreed by all players involved, and if agreed at the same time. If this is a Final then this needs to be agreed by the tournament committee also.

  • Leaving your match whilst still in progress, and thus deeming it as ‘incomplete’, will mean you forfeit the match and your opponent/s progress.

  • After your match, please write the result and score on the draw-sheet so potential opponents know it has been completed. Or forward to Elijah Eaves Bunce

  • If you lose your first round match you will be placed into the consolation/plate event.

  • If a player has a first round bye into the next round, and then loses that match, they too will be eligible for entering the consolation/plate event. This way everyone guaranteed a minimum of two matches.

  • ALL FINALISTS MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR FINALS DAY

  • which will be Saturday 16th Sep

Anything not covered by the above will be referred to and decided by the tournament director

Have a great time and enjoy yourself. Thank you for entering and for making this a great event yet again.
