THE LOTTERY HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF SUPPORT!!

We had hoped to get 50+ participants involved, so that there would be large prize pots every month as well as decent ongoing income for the club's floodlight fund. Unfortunately the uptake was very poor, and we have had to made the decision to cancel the Lottery completely as of the end of this month. Everybody who has ongoing direct debits will have them cancelled immediately by our treasurer, so you should expect no further payments to be taken effective immediately. We would like to thank everyone who did support this fundraising initiative - we very much appreciate the money already raised through this.

As a club, we will now have to look at other ways to fund additional floodlights. Please expect further communication on this as we will be looking to our members to support the next fundraising initiatives.

The aim of the 50:50 Lottery Club is to raise additional funds for Wanborough Tennis Club’s Floodlight project that will help with increasing our play capacity over the dark winter months. The goal is to provide new floodlights on Courts 3 and 4, whilst at the same time give participants a chance to win cash prizes in a monthly draw.

Details of the 50:50 Lottery Club are as follows:

  • The 50-50 Lottery Club will take the form of a monthly prize draw.
  • To join the 50:50 Lottery Club you pledge to “buy” individual numbers between 1 and 75 for £10.00 per number for each calendar month, for a minimum duration of 12 months. The number(s) you purchase will remain the same for the period you remain in the Lottery. Buying at least one number makes you a “participant” in the Lottery.
  • There is no limit to the quantity of numbers that each participant can buy but for the Club to be formed a minimum of 15 numbers between 1 and 75 must be purchased in total. You do not have to be a member of Wanborough Tennis Club to participate.
  • If demand exceeds 75 numbers, the total numbers available to select from will be extended in batches of 20 at a time.
  • Participants may opt to request a favourite number (or numbers) of their choice. Numbers will be allocated on a strictly first come – first served basis. If numbers requested by participants have already been purchased, the next nearest number will be allocated. Available numbers are listed on the Lottery page of our website
  • On the 3rd Friday of each calendar month at our social tennis event, three numbers will be drawn at random from those numbers purchased in that month. The draw will be made by at least two members of the Committee or nominated persons.
  • 50% of the gross proceeds in each month’s lottery will be applied to the prize fund, the other 50%, less expenses, to Wanborough Tennis Club.
  • The monthly prize fund will be split into three prizes as follows:
  • 50% First Prize: 30% Second Prize and 20% Third Prize For example:

           If 50 numbers are purchased in a month, £500 is the total proceeds which will be split accordingly:
                         £250 (50%) will be the total prize fund
                         £125 is for first prize, £75 for second prize and £50 for third prize.

          Then £250 less any expenses will go towards Wanborough tennis Club Tennis improvement projects.
