On Sunday 12th April the club held a special pair of charity tournaments in memory of long-time member Annabel Lloyd. All entry fees (£310) were given to Sobell House, a charity suggested by Annabel’s family. As usual our amazing catering team supported the event by providing some delicious food to keep everyone energised.
Head Coach Andy Aitken managed the miraculous feat of organising two tournaments single handedly and simultaneously, with a totally new format for “The Slam” to boot.
There were 12 contenders in the Social Tournament. After playing in a round robin format, where everyone played with everyone, Anne Saunders and Georgina Auvray were declared joint winners on 12 games each.
There were 14 contenders in the Slam. After a series of one-game matches, Adam Keats and Alana Bibby defeated Mark Rowe and Chris Hewitt in the final. Orlando and Perry Lloyd presented them the sparkling new Annabel Lloyd Trophy.
A great time was had by all. Further photos can be found here.
