IT'S ALMOST TIME TO RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP!

IT'S ALMOST TIME TO RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP!
(unless you opted for a Supersaver last year, but read on anyway)

I'm looking forward.

I'm looking forward to playing tennis!
I'm looking forward to fewer Covid measures.
I'm looking forward to longer days and summer evenings at our beautiful club setting.
I'm looking forward to renewing old acquaintances who I only see on court.
I trust you're looking forward too?

For those of you who didn't purchase a Supersaver membership last year, please don't apply to renew, but wait to be contacted. You will be offered a discount in recognition of lost playing opportunities during Lockdown. Thanks to our diligent Treasurer, the club was able to secure Covid-19 related grant monies, so we can afford it. (Incidentally, the Supersaver was still the best deal).

If you're hesitating about renewing, I'd like to remind you what great value for money Wantage Tennis Club is. Included in your membership are: free court booking, balls and floodlights; five social play sessions a week; league match play; friendly match play; tournaments and a singles box league. Besides all that we have a modern Clubhouse with free wi-fi, a beautiful location, off-court social events, and access to a professional coach delivering something for everyone. I visit quite a few clubs in Oxfordshire & Berkshire and I don't know of one that offers more.

Changing tack, you might like to know that Wantage featured in the Tennis Oxfordshire awards in February and was short listed under two categories - Club of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year. Whilst we didn't bring home the trophies, it was good to be "up there". However, I would like to pay tribute to our Volunteer of the Year nominee, Maureen (Mo) Burgess, who was just squeaked off top spot, but received a "Highly Commended". Very well-deserved Mo!

Also, a reminder for you - don't forget we have a partnership with Wild Wicket Sports (Mill Street, Wantage) whereby they offer a discount to members on tennis equipment, and, they have "demo" racquets so that you can "try before you buy". Do pop in and take a look and chat to them about what you would like to see them stock - they're very keen to meet the needs of tennis players.

I'm looking forward to chasing some balls and looking forward even more to catching up with some of them!

Keeping fit and having fun, what's not to like?! - see you on court.

Regards,

Chairman Mark
