I’d like to thank all those who put such thoughtful time into preparing reports for the Tennis Club AGM yesterday. It really was an opportunity to celebrate the past year and for all members to keep up to date with club matters. Wantage Tennis Club provides enjoyable and successful tennis for all in a safe, sociable and fun environment and these things don’t just happen.

Thanks also to those who attended. The Committee are grateful to all those volunteers and Team Captains for their input over the year. We were securely quorate but I would welcome, including from those who were unable to attend, any suggestions for improvement next year.

As Chairman I am indeed fortunate to have such a great team on the Committee. It’s a pleasure to give something back to the Club which has provided such enjoyment over the years. We need to find some torch bearers from the next generation, so please do approach any Committee member – and expect to be approached by one in the coming months! – if you would like to join the Committee to find out more or shadow a particular responsibility with a view to stepping up in the future. Ten meetings a year – at The Bear.
