FAQs

What if I have never played tennis before?

This is what we are here for, whether you have or haven't played before we are here to help. Tennis Xpress is a great starting place for Adults whilst juniors can be sure to find a nice starting place in any of the staged sessions we offer. Follow the age guides on sessions but also don't hesitate to reach out to us, we are fully player centered and the age groups are guidelines and are happy to discuss your individual situation to find the right starting place for you.

What if I don't have a racket?

This is no problem at all, we have a box of equipment that we keep at the courts and can lend you a racket for as long as you need it for. If you enjoy playing we are happy to help advise you on getting your own racket when the time is right.

What if the weather is bad (session cancellations)?

We are committed to offering tennis all year round and encourage our players to get out and play whatever the conditions. However sometimes even we will accept that the courts are unplayable and in these instances we will make contact at least 1 hour before any session to cancel the session by email. If we are unable to suitably rearrange a session we will offer a credit for future sessions or refund the session at the end of a block or term if you have pre-paid.

Do I need to book a block of sessions?

There is no obligation to book your tennis coaching in blocks, in fact we want our tennis to be as accesible to you as possible so we offer you the chance to book blocks or pay on the day by cash or card as we know committing to every session every week can be hard. However, if you can book a block we would advise it, we set up our blocks so that our players get a structured development and progression in thier tennis. Tennis is a complex coordination sport and we understand that progression takes time and requires structure so if you can commit to a block we promise you won't be dissappointed.

What if I am not a resident of West Green Park?

All activities run through the coaching programme are open to residents and non-residents alike, we want to inspire all who wish to pick up a racket. Non-residents will not have access to the courts outside of coaching times but we can advise you on where best to play locally if you wish to get on court outside of sessions with great public facilities and club venues in Dundee.
