How to find us
Weston Tennis Club
WESTON SUPER MARE
We are delighted to inform you that in-line with Government regulations regarding COVID-19 you can now play tennis again! This requires that we all adhere to some basic guidelines to ensure the safety of all. We have adapted the following from the LTA guidelines which can be found here in their entirety, however we ask you to adhere to the following:
only Members that have renewed their Membership for 2020 are granted court access. To discuss renewal please contact Membership Secretary Bob Wilson on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Singles and Doubles can both be played if pre-arranged - Do not turn up to expect a game as CLUB SESSIONS ARE NOT YET RUNNING.
use of the Clubhouse is restricted to obtaining the court keys and use of the toilets - please do not leave belongings inside the Clubhouse or congregate.
to maintain social distancing please give way to people leaving the Club in the walkway.
Please provide your own tennis balls
If a ball strays onto your court, return it using the foot and racket method.
If you change ends then do so using opposite sides of the net - social distancing should be maintained at all times.
If playing doubles, decide before each point who will take the shots that go down the middle of court.
Coaching with groups of 6 is permitted (including the coach) as long as social distancing is maintained.
Please make use of the hand wash and wipe handles, locks and surfaces with the spray and blue cloth provided.
do not shake hands at the end of a set/match.
please use personal rackets and where possible tennis balls. Club balls are available but we cannot guarantee the cleanliness of these so use of Club balls is at individual risk.
If you have any of the symptoms associated with Coronavirus then you MUST NOT PLAY. If after playing you develop any symptoms, please let Simon, Bob, Jamie or Walter know immediately and contact the Government's test and trace scheme.
We are relying on members to be considerate and careful when using the facilities but members are ultimately responsible for themselves and their own safety.
We're sure that if we all follow these simple rules then tennis can be enjoyed safely. Anyone found to be repeatedly ignoring the rules will be asked to explain his/her actions to the Committee and risks being suspended from the Club. As Government advice changes then these rules will be reviewed again and we will notify you of any changes as quickly as possible.
This friendly club caters for all standards of play. If you enjoy playing competitively we have representative teams in both the Avon and North Somerset County Doubles Leagues. We also run an internal singles league and organise singles and doubles tournaments at various times through the year. We also organise regular Junior tournaments.
