Coaching

Whether you are new to tennis or are a seasoned player, our friendly experienced coaches have a range of group sessions and individually tailored lessons to help whatever your age or ability. 

Junior Coaching

All sessions are conducted by LTA qualified and accredited coaches

  • Junior coaching programmes run during term time with scheduled tennis and camps in school holidays.
  • Saturday morning pay and play sessions are run throughout the year 10-11am, weather permiitting
  • Coaching is run at the club from the spring until autumn and then move indoors to the Wey Valley Tennis Centre for the winter.

Coaching Programmes

  • Mini Tennis Red Ball: for players aged 8 and under. It is played on small courts with short rackets and soft balls. It’s just like the real game and gives players opportunities to have long rallies and play different types of shots.
  • Mini Tennis Orange Ball: for players to continue their progress from Red Ball and is for players aged 8 and 9. It is played with shorter rackets, softer balls and on smaller than full-size tennis courts.
  • Mini Tennis Green Ball: for players to continue their progress from Orange Ball. It is for players aged 9 and 10. It is played on a full size tennis court, with bigger rackets and balls which are a little softer than yellow balls.
  • Junior Yellow Ball: for players aged 10 and above who have developed their skills through the mini tennis groups. It is played on a full-sized tennis court with full compression tennis balls.

Schedule:

DAY TIME GROUP
Mondays 4 to 5 pm Red Ball
Mondays 5 to 6 pm Green Ball
Wednesdays 4 to 5 pm Red Ball
Wednesdays 4 to 5 pm Orange & Green Ball

Other:  18u, 16u, 14u and 12u Yellow ball options are also available. Please speak to one of the coaches to discuss these.

Adult Coaching

All sessions are conducted by LTA qualified and accredited coaches

Beginners and Rusty Rackets - Tuesday Evenings from 6 to 7pm

  • Suitable for players new to tennis who want to develop basic skills and build confidence on the court.
  • May be suitable for players who have not played in a while who want to see where their game is and re-build some confidence. (Players will be assessed and advised on which coaching and/or club sessions may suit them best)

Beginners and Improvers - Thursday Mornings from 9 to 10:30 am

  • Suitable for new and improving players to gain basic skills, build upon them and and build confidence on the court.

Intermediate/Club Player - Monday Evenings 7 to 8 pm (winter) and Tuesday Evenings 7 to 8 pm

  • Suitable for regular players who have acquired basic skills and are looking to improve and develop their all round game

Holiday Camps
