Wickham Bishops Tennis Club Junior Champions
Every year the junior section holds the Play Your Way To Wimbledon tournament in which the two most successful players at either 14 and under singles or 18 and under doubles go through to the County finals.
Notable successes in this event are –
In 2019, Nicole Carding won the club’s 14&U girls’ event with Ida Ghazi Nouri as runner up. Jamie Keegan won the 14&U boy’s event with Joseph Gable as runner up. They were all invited to compete in the Essex County finals with Nicole winning through to the last sixteen.
In 2025, our 18&U girls doubles winning pair of Jasmine Holt and Aahana Jumde went on to become finalists representing Essex at the Regional Finals in Redbridge. They were subsequently offered a ‘Lucky Loser’ place to progress to represent Essex at Wimbledon.
The club also holds a summer tournament every year for the juniors. There are events for ages ranging from those who are 10 and under through to those aged 18 and under. Some of the events are Open inviting juniors of any age to compete. The finals are held alongside the adult finals on a weekend in July. Here are the winners since they were first recorded in 1986.
