Winchcombe Tennis Club

Welcome to Winchcombe Tennis Club.

We are community based club, open to everyone, old or young, who wants to play tennis. We offer social play, return to tennis, tournaments, league matches and coaching.

Court Resurfacing

The Club is really excited to be converting our two courts from tarmac to artificial clay. This will bring benefits for players who suffer from sore joint issues and muscles, and for those who like to slide.

The new surface will take time to bed in - but the more we play on them the better. The bounce can sometimes be a little uneven during the first few weeks or months, so please bear with us. All members can help by brushing the courts after use - you can choose your own method: a spiral or across/up and down. Both work really well but help to even the sand as it settles in. 

Adult Social Sessions:

Adult social sessions are running every Sunday morning from 10am to 12noon and Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm to 9pm. All welcome – come and try a session. We are also developing a Friday evening session for those members who are looking for more competitive play. Check the Whatsapp Group for more details.

From time to time we have home league matches on a Sunday morning during the winter. On those occasions social play will take place on the school courts. Team players will put up and take down the nets. The Committee thanks members for their understanding when this happens.

Our Whatsapp WTC Social group is a good way to find out about social play.  You can also use it to find out whether other members would like a hit. If you would like to be added to the Whatsapp group just email us at winchcombetennis@gmail.com.

A range of shirts, hoodies, sports tops and gilets with the club logo can be ordered online at:

Items are available in children's sizes as well as adult. You can add player initials as an option.  The hoodies and tops come with Winchcombe Tennis Club on the back. 

Delivery takes about 4 weeks. 

Restringing

If you need to get your racquet restrung, please give Merlyn a call on 01242 602 997. He lives on Winchcombe and offers an excellent service. 

Court Booking

Members can now book courts using this website or using the Clubspark Booking App. 

We must always remember that we are guests of the school. We are keen to get off to a good start to what we hope will be a long and happy relationship! We therefore encourage all members to follow a few simple rules:

• It is essential that you book the courts before use
• Please look after the facilities.  

Please leave the courts in a tidy and secure state

We expect there will be some teething problems so please bear with us when these crop up. We will do our best to sort out issues as quickly as possible. All feedback will be gratefully received.
