Hi Everyone,
We ask you please review the following essential information regarding our upcoming Court Maintenance and how it will impact your use of the Club as a result.
As part of our responsibility to maintain our Club and its facilities, we previously determined that given the good condition of our courts despite their age we would be able to defer a resurfacing activity by several years and instead undertake Cleaning and Repainting to maintain their condition in the interim. Court Resurfacing will be an extremely costly activity and this interim maintainence allows for the Club's Sinking Fund to accumulate further.
In discussions with the various LTA accredited contractors who tendered for this work, we were advised of the optimal Summer timing to schedule this maintenance (based upon when normal weather was most likely to allow for the best quality result and shortest maintenance activity). August is also when our Coaching programme will be paused and when many Members will be away for the Summer holidays.
Key Dates
Monday 21st July - Friday 25th July (Partial Courts Closure)
Our Courts will be pressure washed in readiness for upcoming painting. This will be done in pairs starting with courts 3&4, taking courts out of action for two days per pair until 3.30pm each day. The courts can be used in the late afternoon and evenings.
While this activity will not be weather dependent, we have reserved the Friday window additionally to allow for the contractor to perform any minor court repairs also.
Monday 4th August - Saturday 16th August (ALL Courts Closed)
During this time, ALL courts will be completely closed to allow for re-painting to take place and may not be used at any time of day or night please. Court codes will be temporarily changed to help prevent this.
Although repainting is expected to take one week weather permitting, further time is required to allow the paint to fully dry. We will re-open the courts earlier if the contractor confirms the courts as having dried and being safe to play on, however at the moment we need to plan accordingly and have put a 12 day closure in place as per the guidance.
To ensure a quality outcome, we cannot risk anyone trespassing on the courts while they are not dry so it will not be possible to operate on alternate courts from the start to the finish of this activity.
PLEASE NOTE
Clubspark will be kept in sync with the planned Court closures but please do look at this Website, WhatsApp Club Community or your Emails to be kept best informed during the above periods.
For those participating in the Club Tournament, please check your email for guidance soon to be shared by Alex on booking courts for your matches during this period.
Thanks,
The Committee
