Club Etiquette

Notices

The Worcester Lawn Tennis Club committee try to accommodate all members’ requirements when playing at the club. In order to do this every club member needs to abide by certain rules of etiquette so that everyone achieves maximum benefit from membership of Worcester Lawn Tennis Club.

With this in mind, we would like to point out the following to all members when playing:

Tennis Balls

During club championships, certain social occasions and events throughout the summer season balls are provided for play. However, for various reasons club ball stocks have been depleted considerably. Please ensure after your game if you are using club balls they are returned to the clubhouse for use by the next players.

Security

When leaving the club, if you are the last to leave please ensure all lights and the TV are turned off and doors are locked. Please remember for health and safety reasons club rules state juniors under the age of 16 are not permitted in the clubhouse unless accompanied by an adult member.

Court Etiquette

If you and/or your partner or opponent have to walk behind a game or match being played please remember not to cross whilst play is taking place but wait until there is a break in play e.g. when a point is won or lost, as this can be a distraction to players.

Tidiness

Please remember for safety reasons, glasses or cups should not be taken on court. When leaving the court please remember to take all belongings, balls and litter back to the clubhouse.

Lost Property

Personal belongings found in the clubhouse will be kept for one month and if not claimed will be donated to charity. If you have lost or mislaid any belongings, please contact Mary James or Chris Reece.

Worcester Lawn Tennis Club is run by volunteers for the benefit of all members. We aim to make it accessible so that all members can enjoy the excellent facilities. On behalf of the members, we therefore ask everyone using the club to abide by the rules and etiquette. If you have any questions regarding the above or have any suggestions for improving the facilities, please contact any member of the committee.
