Development Project 2024/25 - Wrexham Tennis Centre 

Project underway!

We are delighted that the tennis centre redevelopment is now underway. All the legal and funding requirements have been finalised and the contract with our lead contractor, Read Construction, has been signed.

Customers can expect to see the first work starting on Monday 29th July and then running as previously planned through to early 2025.

External Works

This will be the first part of the project to start with the closure of all outside courts as they are prepared for re-fencing, resurfacing, drainage and the installation of floodlights. 

Also in this first phase will be the necessary groundworks for the installation of Padel courts and their canopy on what is currently the club courts at the front of the building.

Please note that the whole of our outdoor space will be closed to the public during the construction.

Internal & Building Works

Internal work will start soon afterwards and will be focused on the modernisation of the public areas at the front of the building, in particular the toilet and changing facilities.

Indoor tennis will continue….

We will continue to keep the indoor courts open and available for our squads, training and social customers.

As the front of the building and car park will be closed access will be via one of the side doors off the footpath on the southside of the building. Our reception team will be about to help you and we will continue to offer refreshments, albeit a slightly reduced offer.

We anticipate there will be occasions where power or water are turned off which will prevent the centre from opening, these will be advised in good time.

Car parking

Our carpark will be closed during the building works and customer can park in one of the following options, Plas Coch Primary School or in Sainsburys in Plas Coch Retail Park.

Customers are advised to pay particular attention to Wrexham FC’s home fixtures as parking in the area will be more difficult on those days, and is also chargeable on Plas Coch .
