Safeguarding Officer

Linda Sawyer

 

Linda is a retired teacher of 30 years' experience and has been welfare officer at Wrexham Tennis and Padel Centre since 2017. She is an avid player of tennis and is getting the 'bug' for padel. You will often find Linda in the centre, as part of her welfare role, but also playing for and supporting Wrexham Lawn Tennis Club. 

 

'I am passionate about making the centre and the club safe and enjoyable places to play. Anyone wishing to raise a matter of concern may do so knowing that I shall deal with it sensitively, confidentially, discreetly and with honesty of purpose. I am looking forward to working with our Young Ambassadors, Cameron and Carys.'

Young Player Ambassadors

Cameron Parry

Cameron has been playing tennis at Wrexham Tennis & Padel Centre since he was six years old. Over the years, he has watched the centre grow and change, it's been a huge part of his life. 

 

'I'm excited to be part of the centre and the welfare team, where I can help make tennis a safe and enjoyable experience for people of all ages. I'm looking forward to contributing to a positive environment where everyone feels welcomed and supported in their tennis journey.'

 


Carys Hughes



Carys is a Level 1 tennis coach at Wrexham Tennis and Padel Centre. She has been playing tennis for 13 years, since she was 3 years old and has always loved the sport.

 

'Through my role as Young Player Welfare Ambassador, I am striving to ensure that every player has an enjoyable and safe experience. I want to be the young person's voice to promote safeguarding and welfare here at Wrexham. I also want to encourage more young people to take up the sport and to become volunteers.'
