We are extremely proud to announce that we won 'Club of the Year' in the prestigious Derbyshire Tennis Awards 2020 which were announced on Friday night. This is an amazing achievement for everyone at Ashbourne Tennis Club and really demonstrates the hard work and commitment to ensuring our club is the friendly, inclusive, successful club we always aim to be.
Andy Bailey, our Chairman says:
'Well done to everyone involved in the club from committee members, coaches, adult and junior members to helpers and supporters!! 2020 was a tough year for obvious reasons but the club responded brilliantly and there was a great buzz about the place. Let's make it happen again in 2021!!'
James Grindell, Chairman of the Derbyshire Tennis Association said:
'It was for all the social media, organisation, and getting people on court post lockdown. A real club committee effort. Well done'
The results were announced at 8pm on Friday evening via a Facebook video, rather than the usual awards ceremony evening at Pride Park. Hopefully we can be back at Pride Park next year celebrating in style with as many of our members as possible.
