£30 month’s trial

Open to any over 18 who hasn’t previously been a member,

This will entitle you, as a potential new member, to play tennis for a trial period of one month at BLTC, from the date of application, for £30, plus a £10 deposit on a key card.

After that month, you should decide whether or not you wish to join. If you do decide to take up a membership, which should be immediately after the trial and within the same membership period as the trial, then you should inform the Membership Secretary and your fees for the year will be reduced by the £40 you have already paid.

If you do not wish to join, you should return your key card and we will refund your £10 deposit.

You will be not be eligible to play in matches during the trial period.

Only one £30 month’s trial may be used per person.

If you are being referred by a friend, (see below,) this MUST be stated before the month’s trial begins.

Friend referral

This is when a current over 18 member refers a friend to the club, who then joins as an over 18 member.

The person doing the referral must have been a member of BLTC for at least 6 months immediately prior to the referral.

The potential member should inform the Membership Secretary before they apply that they wish to join under the “friend referral” scheme, so the relevant fee changes can be made on their account before the application is made. They must also state who their friend is.

Once payment is received from the new member, the current member will receive a BLTC voucher for the equivalent of two months membership in their category, which can be used towards the following year’s fees, clubwear or social events and the new member will receive a 2 month reduction in their fees.

This can only be used in conjunction with the £30 month’s trial if the Membership Secretary has been informed BEFORE the trial begins.
