Race Night and Quiz Night

Unfortunately our Race Night which was due to take place on 14th March has been cancelled due to lack of numbers. However, the next social event is destined to be more popular. It is one of our regular quiz nights and will be held on Saturday 11th April at 7pm. This time it’s served with Di Giorgio’s pie and peas. Tickets are £10 each and can be ordered at boldon.ltc@outlook.com. Money should be paid into the usual bank account with the reference QUIZ. Please say if you want the vegetarian option when you order. Last date for bookings is Saturday 4th April, as the pies need to be ordered. Good luck!

Caelidh Night

On the subject of social events, we are thinking of holding a Caelidh Night after a suggestion from one of our members. As there is quite a big outlay, paying for a Caelidh band and the hire of a larger room, we would like to know how many people would be interested in principle to holding such an event to see if it is feasible. Pleaser reply to this email, or text 07860 478332, to let us know if you would be interested, and approximately how many people you would bring. If there is enough interest, we will discuss dates later. Thank you.

Sale Rail
Speaking of fundraising, did you know one of the ways we raise money is by selling pre-loved sportswear in good condition? We have raised over £158 doing this. If you have any sportswear you no longer need, please consider bringing it to the club and hanging it on the rail next to the winners board. Thank you. You may even find a bargain there yourself for a donation to the club!

Winter League home match on Sunday 15th March/Social Tennis
Our next Winter League match is at Boldon on Sunday 15th March at 10am. Unfortunately we have no choice to play on any other date and with it being Mothers Day we are going for an early start. We only need 2 courts so it will just have a small impact on social tennis, which will still be on, but we will probably use courts 1,2,3 and 6. Please be mindful of the match play and use the path at the back of courts 4 and 5 between points. Thank you.

Defibrillator battery appeal

As you will probably have noticed, we have a defibrillator at the club which we bought in 2022 to support the local community, of which we are a part. We as a club are the custodians of the defibrillator, and as such we are responsible for the regular checks to make sure it is in working order and from time to time we need to spend money to buy new pads or as is the case now, to renew the battery. A new battery costs £250, so we have set up a GoFundMe page to raise this money. If any of you feel you can spare a bit of cash to help with this good cause, please use the link below to add to the fund. Thank you.

LTA Awards - School of the Year 2026 - Epinay School National Finalists!

We have just been informed that, following a thorough and highly competitive process at the LTA National Judging Panel, Epinay School, with whom we have strong links as a club, has been selected as an LTA Award National Finalist 2026!
We are hoping that a representative of the school will be able to attend the National Awards Ceremony at the National Tennis Centre in London on Thursday 16th April, hopefully to pick up the winners award. Good luck, Epinay!
