The Dot Burgin Trophy is a brand new competition for Bovingdon & Flaunden Tennis Club, and is dedicated to founding member Dot Burgin. A tribute to Dot Burgin can be found here.
The Dot Burgin Trophy is next scheduled to be held in 2025 - date to be announced.
The format of the Inaugural 2022 edition of the Dot Burgin Trophy had two teams: Team Bovingdon vs Team Flaunden. For rounds 1 to 3, the players all played at the same time in a timed format (approximately 25 mins). The finale was two matches of champions tiebreakers (first to 10), are were played consecutively on Court 1 with food. The teams were be decided by Captains.
Date 02/06/2024 - after two years defending their title Team Bovingdon finally beat Team Flaunden to gain the Dot Burgin Cup. The matches were very closely fought and only 5 points separated the teams with Team Bovingdon winning by 91 points to 86. Very well played!
