Finals day serves up a feast of tennis
Bridport Tennis Club held it’s annual Finals Day on Sunday 29th September with 6 outstanding
matches taking place in windy and challenging conditions.

In the Men’s Singles final Nick Wright beat Marc McNaughton 6-2, while Heather Hooper beat
Janet Clayton 6-4 in the Ladies’ Singles final. Nick Wright then went on to win the Men’s Doubles with partner Mark Oppe, narrowly beating Scott Carson and John Snape 7-6 after a thrilling tie-break finish. Meanwhile Hannah Skellern and Jacqui Mitchell secured the Ladies’ Doubles trophy by beating Jill Christison and Jan Parker 6-1. Finally, in the Open Mixed Doubles Huw Rees and Janice Retter beat Alan Cash and Billy Lintell 7-6 after another absorbing tie-break while in the Veteran’s Mixed Doubles Heather Hooper and Mark Oppe beat Julian Jones and Janet Clayton 6-2.
