TITLE JOY FOR CROMER!!!!!
" Cromer went into their last match of the 2021-22 season, away to Bannatyne's II, knowing that 12 points would ensure that they finished top of Division Two of the Norfolk SRA Squash League irrespective of other results and they rounded off their season in style with a fine 15-6 victory - a win which gave them their first divisional title for sixteen years.

Two squash courts, which have recently been refurbished, were opened in 1980 and are available to both members and non members. All members are encouraged to join the club's internal leagues either for squash or racketball, where players are split into "boxes" of six and play each other over a six week period. Promotion and relegation then applies.
An annual club tournament is held each year and the 2022 winner was Richard Keeble who beat the eight times former Norfolk champion Richard Millman in the final. Also, to encourage older members an Over 35 tournament in memory of a former member, Jeff Morris, is also held on an annual basis and in 2022 this was won by the 2012 and 2014 club champion Ben Herrieven who beat the 2009 and 2010 winner, Henri Paul in the final, while a veterans tournament for those aged 45 and over is also held annually and the current holder is John Baker who beat Henri Paul 3-2 in the final
In the spring of each year a popular handicap tournament takes place where everybody who enters is given a points handicap and, in theory, everybody has an equal chance of winning. "The 2022 winner was Richard Keeble, who won the title for a third time, beating Henri Paul in the final."
The club currently runs one team who have just been promoted to Division One of the Norfolk SRA Squash Leagues having finished the 2021-22 season as champions of Division Two. A team is also usually entered in the summer leagues, which are less competitive, and in which we try and include as many members as possible. In 2022 the team finished in second place in Division One.
Racketball (Squash57) is growing in popularity but the Norfolk SRA have not organised a competitive league since 2019 when we finished second in Division One.
The Handicap tournament was held in the spring of 2022 in which Matthew Jordan beat Matt Copeman 3-1 in the final.
Finally, throughout the year we try and arrange a number of "fun" evenings for members, usually on the first Wednesday of each month
If you have not played squash or racketball and would like to give it a try do come and have a go or contact Martin Sanville on 07900 824440 or phone the club on 01263 513741
