Eastgate Tennis Club Championships 2025will start in July and culminate in a finals weekend   September 26/27/28 Evening of  Friday 26th  September and Saturday  27th and 298h September

YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THE FINALS  WEEKEND WHEN YOU SIGN UP TO PLAY

This year the Club Championship  format will follow the same as last year: a Euro’s type competition with group stages according to ranking. From here the numbers of entries will dictate the need for quarter finals and semi-finals or whether the top of the group go straight to the finals. If there are not enough entries in a category we reserve the right to cancel that event.

Events:  OPEN Club Champs  Singles: Men, Women. Doubles: Men, Women.Doubles: Mixed

Over 55 all of the above

We reserve the right to cancel any event if there are less than  4 entries.

Eligibility

All members over  the age of 17 are eligible to enter.

Members under the age of 17 will need to meet the following criteria:

Represent  the club at County level/ or represent  the club in  the senior matches

The organisers have the right to veto an entry if it is deemed that this criteria has not been met.

We have put fewer constraints on timings BUT to fit all matches in we respectfully ask that you do not take more than three weeks between matches. If a date cannot be agreed after three attempts, then it will be decided by the toss of a coin.

Rules:

• Entry cost will be  £5.00 per person, per event entered to cover the costs of prizes and engraving of trophies Please enter as many categories as you are eligible as long as you can fit all your matches in i.e. Main Champs Doubles and Over 55s Doubles details on how to pay will follow
• Format: Each event will be best of two sets, two clear games or tie-break (7 point) at 6-6 in sets 1 & 2. If a match reaches a set all, a Championship Tie-Break (10 points) will determine the winner. Once matches have finished, please update the draw sheet with the score.
• Golden Deuce: one advantage and then sudden death
•  Finals will be the best of THREE sets
• Semi-finals must all be played by the  end of the  weekend  20th 21st September. If for any reason you are unable to play within the allotted time due to the weather, then please let the organisers know. We will assist with advance court bookings if necessary. Please let Fran or I know if this is needed.
