Ladies second team net a draw

Last Sunday, the ladies second team played a competitive home match against Cooden Beach third team and achieved an honourable draw.

The wind proved challenging in the first two rubbers but despite the weather, the games were close, the ladies enjoyed their tennis and they played their hearts out. First pair Jane Hugo and Gemma Bridger, who often play in the first team, won both of their matches 6-2, 6-2 and 6-0, 7-5. Although Carol Tomsett and Pat Duke lost both of their matches 6-1, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-3 they played some good tennis.

There was encouraging support from the sidelines, as injured second team captain Mel Gurnee and first team captain Jo Chopping, cheered the pairs on.
