Ladies second team also take fourth place in division nine of Sussex Winter League

Our ladies second team also finished in a pleasing fourth place of eight teams in division five of the Winter Sussex League, losing out on third place by just one point.
In the first half of the season, our ladies lost their first two matches 3-1 away to Southdown four on their clay and away again to Newick two; and then won their next two 4-0, at home to both Crowborough and Cross in Hand's fourth teams.
In the second half, our ladies lost their first two matches 3-1 after the Christmas break, at home to Seaford & Blatchington's third team and away to Crowborough's third team. Then they took a fitting 4-0 win, in their final match of the season, at home to Hampden Park's fourth team.
Another very good result to finish among the first four teams and maintain their position in division nine.
Members who played in the second team were:
Melanie Gurnee, Gemma Bridger, Alex Twiddy, Jane Hugo, Leesha Daniells, Joanna Chopping, Liz Ritchie and Sandra Neale.
