Rules:
Match format is the best of three sets, final set can be a championship tie-break if both players agree.
If the winner of the match has the higher ranking, he/she is going up one position and loser is going down one position.
If the winner is the lower ranked player, he/she takes over the loser’s position. The loser and all others below the winner move down one position.
Players can have only one pending challenge at the time.
Players must accept a challenge unless the above rule applies.
Players must respond to a challenge within 48hrs and offer 2 alternative dates for a match within the next 3 weeks period. If a player cannot offer 2 dates, he/she can concede or if both agree - challenge can be withdrawn.
Challenger may claim a walkover win if a player is unable to offer to play the match in the next three weeks (don’t abuse this rule).
If challenger has been offered 2 dates but cannot accept them and no alternative date agreed, challenge deemed to be failed.
Failure to respond may result in a walkover win for the challenger.
Challenger to supply tennis balls for the match.
A player can challenge any higer ranked player a maximum of 5 places above.
Any new players joining the ladder will be placed at the bottom of the ladder. They will have one wildcard challenge available which allows to challenge any player ranked below 5th place.
Challenges and results are to be posted on the Singles Ladder WhatsApp group.
Club’s website with current singles rankings will be kept updated as frequent as possible.
