About Hale LTC

Hale LTC is managed by an elected voluntary committee . Their role is to support; not only the strategic direction of the club for its members but lead on  the  overall planning of tennis related activities. 

The committee work hard to enable the club to be a safe and enjoyable place for all levels  of players., enabling sustainable and continuous growth of the club, with excellent facilities, a strong team/competitive  tennis programme and a  thriving junior section.

The Committee works with the LTA on welfare, safeguarding, compliance  and best practice,  in all aspects of tennis club management.

Delivering policies that are clear and effective and are benificial to all members.

Clubmark Accreditation

Hale LTC proudly gained *Clubmark accreditation in May 2009 and has continued to be recognised as a LTA club of excellence.

* This is a 'Mark of Excellence', earned by tennis clubs which, in the opinion of the LTA, demonstrate that they are well-managed and have a comprehensive tennis coaching and programme that works for all members.

Accredited tennis clubs must adopt best practice in all matters but particularly with regards to the safeguarding of adults and children and health and safety.



COMMITTEE MEMBERS

 

Giles Chesher - Club President

Giles' main role is to be the clubs Ambassador and represent the members, chair the committee meetings and annual AGM.

He, along with the committee, will deliver the agreed strategic plans for growth and development of the club.

He will be the lead for liasion with members regarding any issues, along with the Head of Wellbeing and Safeguarding

 

Chris Thexton - Treasurer & Head Coach Liaison

This role is parampount in  supporting the club in delivering the approved commercial strategy in relation to the clubs financial postion, present and future. Ensuring the  long term growth of the club will benefit all members

 

Helen Bradshaw - Junior/Club Secretary 

Junior/Club Secretary role  is to ensure the committee conducts its business within the rules of the club constitution, which includes governance, organising and recording all committee meetings, the  AGM and advice when requierd on all aspects of supporting members and especially ensuring junior members are at the forefront of the club's future strategies for the club's activities & programme

 

Kevin Smith - Membership Secretary & Club Membership Communications/Charity Liaison and Special Projects

Kevin is responsible for managing the membership renewels and resolving any issues.

dealing with membership communications.

Special Projects - example,  new floodlights

 

Pete Murray - Head of Men's Tennis 

Pete joined the committee in Summer 2023, to support the development of mens team tennis, 6 teams  and strategy for future team development

 

Jane Cave - Head of Ladies Tennis 

Jane has been a member for many years, and offers a high level of knowledge and experience that is very benifical to all ladies that play competitive tennis at the club.  Jane manages all the ladies who want to play team tennis at the club and leads the programme for Premier County and National (External)  Tournaments and Competitions

Jane is also a safeguarding support officer

 

Mary Timothy -  Welfare, Wellbeing & Safeguarding Officer:  Housekeeping & Grounds

Mary is responsible for welfare, wellness of the clubs members and safegurading.

This role ensures all  juniors are playing in a secure and safe environment.

This role also includes general wellness for all members so Mary has a duel role that includes the asthetics of the club, to provide a peaceful and lovley space for playing tennis and having enjoyable social time - both in the outside area and inside the clubhouse and all other facilities

 

Susie Brown -  Head Coach Liaison

Susan has moved from Head of Ladies Tennis after 9 years and will now be supporting the Head Coach,  with the Treasurer Chris Thexton, in assisting in the delivering of an outstanding programme of events and coaching for all members.
