January 2025- Court 3 has been re-fenced
October 2024 - Court 3 was resurfaced with artifical grass!
On 26th October we held a well-attended and successful quiz night, our first quiz evening for a few years, pre-covid. See photos on Events page.
Rob Miles won the 23/24 Singles Ladder and retained his title with a hard-fought 8-5 win v Chris Hindle on 2nd May 2025 - see the Playing Zone / Singles Ladder for details.
The 2025 Summer Leagues have commenced - we have 7 teams competing in Chelmsford, Chelmsford Seniors & Brentwood Leagues - fixtures and calendar here, and see Playing Zone / League Matches for latest news.
The Winter League - the SFWL - started in October and concluded in early April 2025. Results were published on 28th April: All 3 of our teams are promoted. Men and Mixed are champions of their respective divisions - full details in Playing zone.

A warm welcome to Ingatestone & Fryerning Tennis Club.
Do you or your family & friends want to learn to play tennis, or come back to the game? Then come and join us at Ingatestone & Fryerning Tennis Club (I&FTC). I&FTC is a friendly, inclusive, relaxed club in the heart of Ingatestone, with two floodlit artifical grass courts and one non-floodlit court (just upgraded to artifical grass on 1st October 2024), located at the rear of the Community Club.
We aim to make tennis accessible for the local community
- Pay and Play court bookable by the hour- all equipment can be provided- (see Booking zone )
- Inclusive membership options to suit everyone for play all year round
- Junior and Adult coaching sessions
- Social play on Saturdays (2-4) Sundays (10-12 & 2-4) and on Tuesday evenings (6pm onwards), Thursday 12-2 pm plus Monday afternoons (1:30-3:30) - (see Playing zone)
- Holiday Tennis Camps throughout school holidays for all ages & abilities led by the coaching team - (see Coaching and Holiday Camp zones)
- Free sessions are available on request and we can offer free 'introductory' group lessons for juniors/adults
- Annual knock-out tournament - see the Playing zone.
- Regular Sunday fun round-robin tournaments - (see Playing zone & Events)
- Teams playing in local leagues - (see Playing zone)
- Social and fundraising events - (see Events zone)
- Very reasonable membership rates for families, under 18's, students and hitting parents - (see Membership zone)
- Adult members automatically also become members of the Ingatestone & Fryerning Community Association and enjoy its many benefits - (see Membership zone)

Important note:
To promote the tennis club, we do take photographs of children and adults participating in coaching and events at the club. These pictures may be displayed (without names) on our website and social media platforms. We aim to abide by the information in our Photography and Filming Policy, which can be found on our website in the “club policies” section. After use, images will be deleted from the device they were taken on. Should you wish to not have an image of yourself or your child taken and shared please make this known in writing to ingatestonetennis@hotmail.co.uk
