Andy Murray defeated Fernando Verdasco in straight sets to lift The Dubai Duty Free Championships, his first trophy of 2017 and his first in Dubai. It took the world number one just one hour and 14 minutes to complete a 6-3, 6-2 victory, despite experiencing an early scare after dropping his first two service games. This title is Murray's 45th in his career, adding to his ever growing achievements and extending his lead on Novak Djokovic at the summit of the men's game.
Andy wasn't the only member of the Murray family claiming titles, with his brother Jamie, teaming up with Bruno Soares to lift the Abierto Mexicano Telcel Title in Acapulco after defeating John Isner and Feliciano Lopez 6-3, 6-3.
Congratulations to both the brothers for their first trophies of the year - here's to many more titles in 2017!!
