Schools Tennis Coaching

Portsmouth Tennis Centre is proud to work in partnership with the Tim Henman Foundation, helping to create positive opportunities for children and young people across our local community.

Together, we currently deliver programmes with Stamshaw Infant School, Mayfield Primary School, Trafalgar School, and Redwood Park Academy, using tennis as a tool to build confidence, skills, and aspirations beyond the court.

The Tim Henman Foundation takes a place-based approach, working closely with schools, community organisations, coaches, teachers, and mentors to embed long-term support in areas of high deprivation. Their work focuses on supporting children and young people (up to the age of 25) who come from low-income backgrounds, have special educational needs and/or disabilities, attend schools with above-average levels of free school meals or SEND, and live in some of the most deprived communities in England.

Through this partnership, Portsmouth Tennis Centre is committed to making tennis more accessible, inclusive, and impactful—helping young people develop not only as players, but as confident, resilient individuals ready to succeed in life.
