With the Australian Open in full swing on the other side of the world, a very different tennis competition was underway in Royal Wootton Bassett on 19 January.   This 11U event was as much a test of endurance in the cold and damp as it was an examination of tennis ability.  The boys and girls playing in the South & South West Tour G4 event showed remarkable tenacity to cope with the cold and even snow flurries.   Well done to all the competitors – and their family members - who braved the conditions. 

The event was run by Sam and Chris of Active Academy, and was a opportunity to highlight their new sponsor, Waterdrop.  RWB Tennis Club will be hosting a portfolio of tennis events run by Active Academy throughout 2025, giving players of all ages an opportunity for local and regional competition.
