Our Head Coach Ali Ward has been recognised by the LTA as the Wiltshire Performance Coach of the Year 2024. The award was presented to Ali by LTA President Sandi Procter at an event on 23 February (shown in the image). This is a well-deserved achievement and comes of the back of a hugely successful coaching programme run at Royal Wootton Bassett Tennis Club by Ali and his coaching team.
Ali runs coaching for all ages, and includes an active programme for wheelchair players. His work with junior players has seen several participants of the programme make the step up to County competitions. Ali also coaches international paralympian tennis star Louise Hunt, along with a group of wheelchair players, providing a regional focus for this form of the sport.
There is no doubt that Ali and his team of coaches are a massive asset to the club, and the services they make available are enjoyed by members and non-members alike. Ali is a worthy winner of the LTA Wiltshire Performance Coach of the Year 2024 Award and will now progress to the Regional stages of the LTA Tennis Awards 2024.
