Safeguarding

We are the representative body for tennis clubs in the Ayrshire District and are affiliated to Tennis
Scotland – the national governing body – and South of Scotland Tennis – the county.

In 2022 we adopted padel into our constitution.

Tennis Ayrshire is committed to prioritizing the well being of all children and adults at risk,
and promoting safeguarding in our activities, including competitions, performance squads, district
coaching, easter and summer camps.

If you are an individual and have a concern about any Tennis Ayrshire activity refer to report
a concern here, in an emergency dial 999.

If you are a member of a local club, and not in a district activity please follow your own club’s
guidelines on reporting a concern. In addition to this please inform the Welfare Officer of the club.

Tennis Ayrshire Safeguarding and adults at risk policy can be found below, we are committed
to the LTA’s safe and inclusive code of conduct and implementing safe and inclusive tennis standards
throughout all our activities.
Adults at Risk Policy
Children at Risk Policy

All clubs have a legal duty, under the protection of vulnerable groups (Scotland) 2007 Act, to make
sure that all adults who are authorized to work or volunteer with children on behalf of the club are
not on the Children’s List.

Volunteers working in clubs affiliated to Tennis Ayrshire can benefit from a free PVG
membership registration or if already a member, an updated check via Tennis Scotland (if you are in
a paid role this costs £59). Everyone working with children and vulnerable adults unsupervised on a
regular basis should be part of the PVG membership scheme and have a an updated check
completed every three years to ascertain their suitability.

PVG forms can be requested here.
