Safeguarding

Tennis Borders District association is committed to prioritising the well-being of all children and adults at risk, and promoting safeguarding in our activity at all times, including all squads, programmes, events and competition we run.

If you are an individual and have a concern about any Tennis Borders District activity refer to and report a concern here, in an emergency dial 999.

If you are a member of a local club, and not in District activity please follow your own clubs guidelines on reporting a concern and inform your clubs Welfare Officer. If this is not available please follow the above instruction.

Tennis Borders Welfare Officer is Pippa Walls and can be contacted here (INSERT)

Tennis Borders full safeguarding policy can be found here (INSERT), we are committed to the LTA's safe and Inclusive code of conduct, and implementing safe and inclusive tennis standards throughout all our activity.

Parents, we would encourage you to read this information on safeguarding for your child including choosing the right coach and venue.

Volunteers working in clubs affiliated to Tennis Borders can benefit from free PVG membership registration or if already a member, an update check via Tennis Scotland (if you are in a paid role this costs £59). Everyone working with children and vulnerable adults unsupervised or on a regular bases should be part of the PVG membership scheme and have an up to date check done in that capacity to ensure their suitability for doing so. PVG forms can be requested here. Once completed PVG forms will need to be verified with identification in person before returning. Pippa Walls is the Tennis Borders verifier on behalf of Tennis Scotland or alternatively, stuart.brown@tennisscotland.org can also complete the process.
