Hard to believe the modern, well equipped Melrose clubhouse was actually a general store in the 1990s before it was transported lock, stock and barrel to its current location.

PeeblesPeebles Lawn Tennis Club

3 floodlit articial clay and 2 floodlit all-weather courts.

Peebles Lawn Tennis Club was established in 1888 at the time when sports of all kinds were emerging with public access to parks opening up after Queen Victoria's return to public life.

Following recent repairs and refurbishment the 1925 built clubhouse is still going strong!

The Australian Open Mens Singles Trophy is called the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup, named after the first non-British winner of the Wimbledon Mens Title and 2 other Grand Slams. Norman came to the Borders to study paper making in his younger days and whilst here famously played for Peebles in 1898 against The Dean Club Edinburgh!
