LADIES DOUBLES FINAL

The Club Championships has been concluded! Congratulations to Sheena & Kirsty who bested Liz & Hannah in a very closely contested ladies doubles final, with both sets going to a tie break. Thanks to everyone who competed this year.

CLUB CHRISTMAS MEAL

It's time to book your place at the Christmas Meal! We are again going to the Barley Mow as they have looked after us so well in the past. Date: Friday 13th December, 7.30pm. Cost will be £25.99 for 3 courses or £22.49 for 2 courses. You can view the festive menu on the Barley Mow's website here.

Places are limited to 46, so book your place now by letting Carol know. We will be asking for payment in a couple of weeks. (In the past they have refunded if people have been unable to come right up to the day itself.) At this stage it is MEMBERS ONLY. However, if we have space we will open it up to partners, so let us know when you book if you would like another place should demand allow.

ROOFING WORKS TO CLUBHOUSE

Access from the Village Hall car park, the front gate to Courts 1 & 2 and to the clubhouse are now back to normal following completion of the roof works. Thank you for your patience.

TEAM PRACTICE NIGHTS

As usual we are combining the team practice nights for the winter period. From Tuesday 29th October, the Men's and Ladies team practice sessions will all be on a Tuesday night, 6.30pm onwards. This means that Wednesday nights are now available for private play.

MIXED DOUBLES CHAMPIONS

Congratulations to our latest club champions, Rob Challinor & Liz Holland who won the mixed doubles final! They prevailed against last years champions, Chris Proud & Hannah Cooper, in a very entertaining 3 set match.

WALTON/BASELINE VETERANS TOURNAMENT 2024/25

It’s that time of the year again and entries are required for the annual winter vets tournament. As usual the categories are – Men’s Singles, Ladies Singles, Men’s Doubles, Ladies Doubles and Mixed Doubles. All entries should be sent to Ian Henderson stating the name of the entrants and the category together with their email addresses and mobile number. The latest date for entries is Monday 28th October.

LADIES SINGLES CHAMPION

Congratulations to Kirsty Marshall who retained her ladies singles title in a repeat of last year's final against Amanda Trotter (6-3, 6-3). Well done both!

QUIZ NIGHT

Thank you to all the quizzer's for making our quiz night such a success! We raised about £700 for the Alzheimer's Society as well as about £600 for the Club. Thank you Roger for the quiz which was pitched just right and perfectly timed. And don't forget the guys behind the scenes, Gareth, Rob and Chris!

MEN'S DOUBLES CHAMPIONS

Congratulations to Chris Proud & Rob Challinor who won the men's doubles title last night, beating Sam Nutting & Rhys Morgan in the final (6-2, 6-1). If you'd like to watch more finals action, Kirsty and Amanda will battle it out in the ladies singles final on Monday 7th October at 1pm.
