When are the courts and nets open?

The Tennis courts and Cricket nets are available during the West Ham Park opening times from 8.00am, 7 days a week. Last booking of the day is 1 hour before dusk and the courts must be vacated 30mins before the park closing time. Please check the website for details of the parking opening times. The only exceptions are Christmas day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, where the Park closes at 1pm.

How do I purchase an annual registration?

Please visit our membership page. Payment is made online and the charge is £44.20 for an annual family pass for up to 4 people of the same household. The individual Tennis Pass is £34.70. The Annual Cricket Pass is £23.10. The pass runs for I year from 1st April till the 31st March the following year. All prices remain the same throughout the duration of the year and can be purchased at any time within that year.

Do I have to be a resident of Newham?

No, anyone can purchase an annual registration and then make a court or net booking.

I only want to play once or twice, what can I do?

We offer a pay and play option charged at £7.40 per hour per court. The annual family or individual pass and cricket net pass offers excellent value for money starting from just £20. See our website for details. Simply register, book the time you would like to play and then and pay for your preferred memberships. All payments are made online via the website.

Do I get an annual registration for each person in the household?

The annual Family Pass allows up to four members of the same household.

Once I have an annual membership do, I still have to pay court or net fees?

The Annual Individual pass allows you to enjoy a 1-hour session up to a maximum of 3 times per week. The Annual Family pass allows up to 4 members of the same household a 1-hour session up to a maximum of four times per week.

Once I have an annual membership, do I have to book the courts or nets that I want to use?

Yes. You will still need to book courts or nets using the online booking system. We ask that if you no longer require your booking that you cancel as soon as possible so that someone else can use the court. Persistent miss use may result in penalties against your membership.

Once I have booked my court or net, how do I get access?

Once you have booked your court or net, you will receive your booking confirmation. Your booking confirmation will include a PIN which you can then enter into the keypad at the access gate to the courts or nets. The PIN will only be active 15 minutes before the booked session. Any early than 15 minutes and you will not gain access. Access to the cricket needs will require the assistance of one of the keepers on site.

Do I need a PIN code each time I use the courts or net?

Yes. You will be issued with a PIN each time you book a court. The nets have to be unlocked each time by one of our onsite keepers. Contact a member of staff onsite when you visit.

What do I do if my PIN doesn't work?

Firstly, please check that you are within the timeframe that the PIN is active. If you are, please call the telephone number that is on your booking confirmation and you will be provided with an alternative PIN for that booking.

How many sessions can I book per day?

Bookings can be made in 1-hour slots seven days a week and will depend on the membership that you have purchased. Terms and conditions apply.

Can I purchase an annual registration for coaching purposes?

Only professional National Tennis Association coaches are authorised to deliver coaching activities on the courts. The annual registration, memberships and the pay and play rates are not permitted for this purpose. We will be carefully monitoring this to ensure that any reported misuse has the appropriate action taken. We ask that you have your booking confirmation on hand to show a member of staff who will be performing random checks.

If I have purchased an annual registration, am I tied into a contract?

No. The memberships provide you with the option of accessing your chosen facility throughout the duration of the year that it runs.

If I have purchased an annual membership, when does it start?

The membership will be activated when you register your email address and create a password for your online account. It will run from 1st April – 31 March the following year. The memberships run annually within the same timeframe each year. We are confident that it will still provide exceptional value for money at whatever time it is purchased throughout the year, as you will have made a massive saving in as little as 2 weeks for the maximum play/time allocation.

Am I entitled to a concessionary rate if I am receipt of benefits?

From our data analysis we have set a standard price of our courts. This has not only simplified the costing structure but makes it align services for all our services user in line with what is done on other sites local to the area and neighboring boroughs. We have also taken this approach in line with advice from LTA.  

What happens if I purchase an annual registration part way through the year? Is there a reduced fee?

No. There is no reduced fee. From the time you activate your account it will run until to the expiration date of 31st March. If you manage to use at least 6 hours of tennis before the expiration date you will have broken even at the very least.

Once I have joined can I stop it part way through the 12 months?

No. All purchases will continue to run until the 31st March and are not transferable.

Can I hire equipment?

Limited tennis equipment is available for hire. You will just need to pay a £10 refundable deposit. If you require equipment to hire, then please call 07554 436595 during office hours (Mon- Fri 9.00am- 4.00pm) to request this so that it can be arranged for when you attend.

Can I cancel a booking I have already made?

If you wish to cancel a booking you must cancel it via your account (my bookings) or the confirmation email.

Cancellations made within 24 hours of the court booking will not be eligible for a refund or transfer (pay & play option only). Annual memberships packages are not eligible for a refund of any kind.

We will be monitoring usage. Players who consistently book and do not turn up risk having their membership suspended.

NB. No cash refunds will be given. A refund will be applied to the card which was used at the time of booking (it may take up to 10 working days for this refund to show on the payment method). Alternatively, we may offer to book an alternative slot on your behalf.  

If I see damage to the courts or nets, or anti-social behaviour who should I report this to?

If you notice the courts or nets are damaged or unsafe or if you witness anti-social behaviour that is not in keeping with the Terms of Use, then please contact our office on 07554 436595 or email parks.gardens@cityoflondon.gov.uk.
