Instructions for Use

Before use, please consider the following options for controlling the machine (these are highlighted during induction training):

Ideally and for the best experience users should download the Spinfire Pro 2 App on their smart phone before coming to the club. The App replicates all the features that can be accessed on the control panel at the rear of the machine and also allows users to create/fine tune or modify drills and ball feed to suit practice requirements. It also has AI options to take drill creation to the next level making the machine extremely versatile.

If users don’t have a smart phone they may use the small remote control. This replicates all the features that can be accessed on the control panel at the rear of the machine and also allows access to basic drills and fine tune ball feed. However, we only have one remote control. It can easily be lost and the cost of replacement is currently over £150!

Collecting the ball machine and equipment

  1. Go to the ball machine storage cupboard and unlock by taking key from key press
  2. Check that the machine and all balls are dry before use. If the balls are damp, the machine must not be used
  3. Carefully wheel the machine out and take out the ball basket, extension lead, power supply and remote control (kept in small black bag). Relock the cupboard, return the key to the keypress and scramble the code
  4. Wheel the empty machine onto the court using the handle
  5. Take the ball collection basket (filled with balls), power supply and extension cable to courts 3 or 4

Initial Setting Up

  1. Ensure the ball machine is positioned correctly on court (a few inches/cm behind the base line and centrally along the base line)
  2. Push the carrying handle back into the body of the machine
  3. Align the throwing wheels so that they are facing down the centre line of the service box
  4. Fill the hopper with Spinfire pressureless balls
  5. Run out the extension cable from the floodlight pole to just behind the machine ensuring cable runs along fence line to minimise trip hazard
  6. Rotate the cover on the socket on the floodlight pole and plug in extension cable
  7. Go back to the machine and check that the ”Internal battery/ External battery (AC Power)” selector switch is in the middle position. This is a default OFF position.
  8. Connect the power supply by plugging the small 3 pin din plug into the base of the ball machine
  9. Plug in the Mains 3 pin plug into the extension cable

The machine is now prepared for powering up.

Powering Up:

  9. If the machine has become wet, please dry off both the machine and power cable
  10. Refit the protective cover
  11. Any damp balls should be removed from the collection basket to allow them to dry
  12. If you have lost any balls during your session that are impossible to retrieve, please make a note on the sheet in cupboard. This is just so we can keep an eye on ball inventory – to ensure that we have sufficient balls for members to use the machine
  13. Lock the storage cupboard and return the key to the key press, scramble the code and slide up the weatherproof cover
